Brechin and Cowdenbeath had to settle for a point each after a goalless draw in which defences were on top.

Cowdenbeath went close on 16 minutes when a free-kick from Lee Dair forced a great save from keeper David Hay.

Davie White struck the underside of the bar with a header from the subsequent corner.

Brechin pressed in the second half and a shot from Roddy Grant flew just wide. Then on 72 minutes a diving header from the same player was saved.
