Clark calls for Saints' support ahead of Aberdeen clash
St Johnstone entertain Aberdeen at McDiarmid Park in a game with nothing but pride to play for.
But Saints boss Sandy Clark, who refused to be drawn on the future of striker Nathan Lowndes after the Dons admitted an interest, believes that the number of younger players on view for both sides should entice the supporters to Perth.
"There have been some good games between us and Aberdeen this season and I'm sure that they will be ready for another one," said Clark.
"They will be out to win the game and there will be a lot young players on view which will be good for everyone watching."
The latest addition to the Saints squad is 18-year-old Martin Fotheringham, who joins the first-team for the first time as Clark assesses his younger players before the end of the campaign - although one newcomer is set to miss out.
"We have got a problem with Davie McClune, who has an ankle injury from training on Thursday," said Clark.
"It is a shame for the young lad because he has done well for us recently.
"Paul Kane is struggling as well from last week with an ankle knock.
"Nick Dasovic has been away with the Canadian international team so we will wait until he comes back at tea-time to see how he is.
"So we are short in the midfield for the game."
Aberdeen manager Ebbe Skovdahl, who could be set for a move for Billy McKinlay, believes that keeping Saints striker Keigan Parker in check will provide the key for his side.
"We usually draw down there. If we can keep Keigan Parker quiet then hopefully we can pick up three points," said Skovdahl.
"St Johnstone have struggled since the winter break but in the last couple of games they have been finding form so it should be a tough game.
"Next season I'm hoping for more consistency, like we have had since the winter break."
Aberdeen's Scotland Under-21 duo Derek Young and Philip McGuire are both suspended, while Robbie Winters is a doubt because of a back problem.
