Forfar kept alive their hopes of beating relegation with a two late goals in a three-minute burst to secure a 2-0 away win at Queen's Park.
They still have the third-bottom Spiders in their sights as they try to hold onto their Second Division place.
With just nine minutes left Forfar broke the deadlock when veteran striker Ian Ferguson was allowed to carry the ball along the 18-yard line before sending a rising shot into the corner of the net.
And just three minutes later Willie Stewart punished a defensive mix-up to drive the a second.
That all happened after substitute Stewart came on with just 20 minutes left and began stretching the home defence with his pace.
But those two late goals were reward for the effort by Forfar who looked as if they were going to be denied by the woodwork.
With the Spiders busy but seldom threatening in front of goal, on-loan striker Liam Keogh came close to an opener for Forfar after 57 minutes when he hit a post.
Just 40 seconds later Andy Carlin hit the same post with a fierce drive and then it was the turn of Stewart to hit the bar 10 minutes from time.
