Montrose edged out East Stirling with a 1-0 victory in a typical end-of-season affair at Firs Park.
The only goal of an instantly forgettable 90 minutes came after just three minutes when Jonathan Mitchell out-stripped the home defence to crack in a shot from the edge of the box.
East Stirling created one or two openings, but somehow Dougie Todd and Gregor McKechnie missed when well placed.
After the interval, Montrose could have increased their lead but Mitchell's overhead kick was well saved by home keeper Jim Butter.
East Stirling made one final attempt to claim a share of the spoils but top-scorer Steven Hislop blasted the ball over the bar when he should have scored.
