Brechin kept their promotion hopes alive with a narrow but deserved 1-0 victory over Dumbarton.
The home side attacked from the start and a shot from Kevin Bain flew just wide before an effort from Roddy Grant was saved by keeper John Hillcoat.
Brechin took the lead after six minutes when Grant headed home a Kevin Fotheringham free-kick via the post. They continued to press and Fotheringham had a header tipped over by Hillcoat.
Dumbarton came more into the game in the second half and the closest they came to scoring was after 75 minutes when Paddy Flannery shot just wide following a corner.
