Basement side Elgin's woes continued as they conceded two first-half penalties on their way to a 3-0 defeat against promotion contenders Brechin.

Kevin Bain converted both times from the spot on 18 and 38 minutes.

The first award came when Des Irvine fouled Daryn Smith and David Craig was later penalised for also bringing down Ben Honeyman in the area.

In between Bain's double, Roddy Black (21) headed home a Blair Sturrock cross from close range.
