Brechin's promotion hopes suffered a setback when they lost at home to Albion Rovers.
Albion started brightly and Gerard McKenna and Martin Harty both went close in the first half.
After a sustained spell of pressure, the visitors took the lead in the 43rd minute when Stewart Easton converted McKenna's cross.
Rovers scored their second goal in the 81st minute when Steve McCormick headed home a Jered Stirling corner.
Brechin were handed a lifeline in the 89th minute when Albion goalkeeper Chris Fahey was dismissed for a foul on Blair Sturrock in the penalty area.
Kevin Bain converted the resulting spot-kick, but it proved too little too late for the home side.
