Brechin got their Third Division promotion campaign back on track with a convincing 2-0 victory at East Stirling.
Two first-half goals from Ben Honeyman and Kevin Bain revived their hopes of making a top-two finish and Honeyman got the show on the road after just 15 minutes, cracking in a shot from the edge of the Shire box after the home team had failed to clear their lines.
Six minutes later the game was as good as won when Bain lobbed home following a corner which Shire goalkeeper Jim Butter came for but missed completely.
Honeyman could well have had a second goal six minutes after the break when he was clean through but Butter denied him with a fine save.
The home team were rarely seen in attack, although Gary Higgins could have reduced the deficit after 68 minutes but his shot from almost point-blank range was blocked for a corner.
