A goal from substitute Alan Jenkins, and a first goal for Stranraer from David Farrell, kept the points at home in a tight 2-1 victory over Stenhousemuir.

The visitors dominated the first half but failed to finish numerous chances and paid for it when Stranraer blitzed them just after the break.

Two minutes after the interval Jenkins forced home the first, and seven minutes later Farrell fired in a great 20-yard free-kick to double the lead.

The visitors countered with an overhead kick from Isaac English 10 minutes from the end and were unlucky not to claim an equaliser in the dying seconds when Nicky Henderson fired against the crossbar.

It was the second time Stenhousemuir had hit the woodwork, but the home side held on to take all three points.
