Brechin went clear at the top of Division Three after beating East Fife.

The home side created most of the early chances but East Fife went close in the 27th minute when a cross from Kevin Magee hit the post.

The visitors were unlucky again in the 56th minute when a drive from Magee forced a great save from Derek Seuter.

But Brechin clinched victory 10 minutes from time when Roddy Black broke on the left and crossed for Roddy Grant to slide the ball home.
