All Saints Day turned into a trip to hell for St Mirren after a goal in each half ensured the three points would stay at McDiarmid Park.

John Paul McBride scored three minutes before the break and striker Keigan Parker settled the encounter 13 minutes from the end.

The Paisley side had started well and the divine performance early on meant they looked the more likely team to break the deadlock.

But McBride slotted past goalkeeper Ian McCaldon just before the interval to give St Johnstone the advantage.

Teenager Parker was menacing throughout the game and produced a superb volley to kill the game off.

St Mirren had taken just one minute to launch an attack on the St Johnstone goal.

Barry McLaughlin's header found Graham Fenton inside the six-yard box but goalkeeper Alan Main dived low to deny the former Leicester City striker.

A few minutes later Sergei Baltacha went on a great solo run that took him right to the edge of the 18-yard box before he was disposed by Momo Sylla.

The home side took advantage of the counter attack and Parker should have opened the scoring.

The striker took the ball round Tommy Turner before unleashing a shot that produced a great save from on-loan goalkeeper McCaldon.

Baltacha turned provider in 14 minutes when he sent a cross into the area but was met by Fenton.

The St Mirren hitman whipped a header across the face of the goal but was just off target.

Maikel Renfurm proved to the Love Street side's saviour with a late equaliser on Tuesday night and he tried to make an impact on this game four minutes later.

The Dutchman's opportunist strike caught most of the St Johnstone defence off-guard but he was denied by an alert Main.

As expected Parker was proving to be a menace and on the half hour mark he had a close attempt.

Paddy Connolly fed the ball through to the youngster who rifled a shot that slid inches wide of the post.

But in the 42nd minute, the home side broke the deadlock when a cross from Parker w
