Aidrie ended their miserable run of not having won a league match at home this season in style with a 5-1 thrashing of Ross County.
David Fernandez and Antonio Calderon, in particular, linked very well and it was their partnership that proved a thorn in the side of Neale Cooper's team.
The first goal came in the eighth minute after Fernandez took advantage of hesitation from his opponent to stroke the ball low inside Nicky Walker's left-hand post.
The second came just three minutes later and was courtesy of Stuart Taylor's header from a Austin McCann cross.
The third, and goal of the match, arrived nine minutes from the interval when Calderon volleyed a terrific shot past Walker from a Fernandez cross.
The second half improved a little for the visiting side, but despite their early intentions it was the Diamonds who added to their tally through a John Elliott strike after 54 minutes.
They did pull one back in the 64th minute through an own goal but the Diamonds completed the rout when substitute Martin Prest headed home a near-post cross to give his team their second five-goal win of the season and lift them off the bottom of the table.
