Brechin and Cowdenbeath had to settle for a point each from a 0-0 draw at Glebe Park as both sides drew blank in this top-of-the-table battle.
The scoreline did not reflect an action packed game with both sides cruelly denied a vital goal by the woodwork.
Brechin were the first to be thwarted as Roddy Grant headed against the post from a Roddy Black corner kick with 28 minutes gone.
Two minutes into the second-half Blair Sturrock followed suit as Brechin stepped up their hunt for a goal, the striker hitting the Cowdenbeath upright with a header from a Doug Coulston's cross.
Cowdenbeath had to wait for their chance to snatch the game but once again the woodwork was to play a decisive role as nine minutes from time Greame Brown cut in from the left to fire a drive against the inside of the post but somehow the ball stayed out.
