Match Preview: Dundee United - Motherwell
Soccernet.com

Smith missing Griffin for 'Well clash

Rock-bottom Dundee United are without knee-injury victim Danny Griffin for the home clash with Motherwell.

However, temporary manager Alex Smith may draft in Joaquim Fernandez and the previously out-of-favour Tony Smith.

French striker Nicolas Ouedec could make his debut for the Tannadice club if Smith thinks he has the stomach for a battle.

Smith said: "Nicolas is an experienced player but he must show he is willing to play for the club. He is not coming here just to put himself in the shop window.

"We will monitor his fitness as well as his attitude but I feel he is hungry to do well for Dundee United."

Motherwell have striker John Spencer fit again for the trip to Tannadice.

However they will be without midfielder John Davies through suspension after his red card against Celtic.
