MILAN, Nov 7 (Reuters) - Former Leeds United striker Alejandro Sabella has been appointed assistant to new Parma coach Daniel Passarella, the Serie A club said on Wednesday.
Sabella, known as 'Alex' during his time in England, was
assistant to Passarella at Argentine club River Plate as well as
when he coached the Argentine and Uruguayan national teams.
Passarella, captain of Argentina's 1978 World Cup-winning
squad, was named on Tuesday as Parma's replacement for Renzo
Ulivieri.
Sabella was one of the first Argentine players to play in
England when he joined Sheffield United in the late 1970s. He
later moved to Leeds before returning to Argentina.
Parma said on their official website that Ricardo Cosentino,
who worked with Passarella at River Plate and Uruguay, has also
joined Parma's staff along with fitness coach Alejandro Kohan.
