Now Alania's Averyanov quits in Russia

MOSCOW, April 26 (Reuters) - Alania Vladikavkaz's Alexander Averyanov has become the second Russian premier division coach to quit within a week and the third in the last 12 days.

'I have made a decision to quit, based most of all on the interests of the team,' Averyanov was quoted as saying by Sport-Express newspaper on Thursday.

Alania are second from bottom with just three points from six matches.

Anatoly Baidachny quit Chernomorets Novorossiisk over the weekend to join fellow premier division strugglers Rostselmash Rostov.

Dynamo Moscow coach Valery Gazzayev resigned on April 14 following his team's 2-1 defeat by city rivals Lokomotiv. Another coach, Rostov's Sergei Balakhnin, lost his job this month when he was sacked after his club's run of poor form.

In a coaching merry-go-round, former Spartak Moscow reserve coach Viktor Zernov has been appointed to guide Chernomorets, who are third from bottom with four points.

Meanwhile, Russian media reported that Gazzayev, who led Alania to the 1995 league title, was about to rejoin the Vladikavkaz side.
