MADRID, Aug 21 (Reuters) - Real Madrid captain Fernando Hierro has recovered from gastroenteritis and made the squad for Friday's European Supercup match against Galatasaray.
Hierro will not play in Monday's friendly against Napoli,
the club said, but is expected to join the team in Monaco, venue
for the annual game between the European champions and UEFA Cup
winners.
Real Madrid coach Vicente Del Bosque named a 25-man squad
which, bar any late signings, will also be registered with the
Spanish football federation for the coming season.
The opening weekend of the Spanish first division is
September 9-10.
Real's world record signing Luis Figo of Portugal will have
the number 10 jersey last worn by Dutchman Clarence Seedorf.
European Supercup squad:
Goalkeepers - Bodo Illgner, Cesar Sanchez, Iker Casillas.
Defenders - Michel Salgado, Roberto Carlos, Fernando Hierro,
Manuel Sanchis, Ivan Campo, Aitor Karanka, Geremi Nijtap, Julio
Cesar.
Midfielders - Albert Celedes, Jose Maria Gutierrez, Alberto
Rivera, Savio, Steve McManaman, Ivan Helguera, Claude Makalele,
Flavio Conceicao.
Strikers - Raul Gonzalez, Fernando Morientes, Luis Figo,
Santiago Solari, Pedro Munitis, Tote Lopez.
