Updated Thursday July 13, 2000, 10:01 PM GMT Okan Buruk
Okan's fairytale comeback from injury was capped by his appearance at the Championships this summer. Once hailed as the saviour of Turkish football, the Galatasaray wideman suffered a badly broken leg in the early 1990s and has only just recovered his form and place in the national set-up. Often fails to last the pace, but has as much ability as any player in the Turkish squad. Scored Turkey's goal - his first ever for his country - in his side's 2-1 defeat in their first group match of Euro 2000, rising unmarked to beat Francesco Toldo. Again showed his skills with an accomplished contribution to the Turks' historic win against Belgium. Was very disappointing against Portugal and was substituted.
