Expect more of same, says Etxeberria
By Kevin Fylan

TEGELEN, Netherlands, June 22 (Reuters) - Spanish fans can expect even more heart-stopping moments during the remainder of Euro 2000, according to Joseba Etxeberria.

The Basque midfielder said on Thursday he expects Spain to continue in their own unpredictable way after securing an astonishing 4-3 win in their final Group C match against Yugoslavia, scoring twice in injury-time to come back from 3-2 down.

'The good stuff should just be starting now,' said Etxeberria, who began Spain's first two games against Norway and Slovenia and came on as an early substitute on Wednesday following an injury to Fran.

'There are only eight teams left in, each game is a knockout and there'll probably be extra-time and penalties to come. I think the competition is going to be more exciting between now and the end of the tournament. More emotional, too.

'We're just going to keep on playing the same way we have been playing, trying to score from the first minute. It's got us this far, now let's see if it can get us through to the final.'

Etxeberria said the whole squad, as well as their coach Jose Antonio Camacho, were on a high after the Yugoslavia win. 'It's a great feeling after being behind for almost the whole game to turn everything round in the last minute, to win, to qualify and to top the group.

'We'd played a good game but we were almost out on the street so obviously we're very happy.'

Spain's reward for their miracle win against Yugoslavia is a Quarter-final against World Cup winners France - an assignment they are clearly looking forward to.

'We know France are a great team with great players and we'll respect them but we're going to play in exactly the same way against them,' said Etxberria. 'There's no point in changing things round.'

Spain expect all three of their injury worries, Fernando Hierro, Michel Salgado and Fran to be available to face France on Sunday.

Hierro missed the Yugoslavia match with a thigh strain, while Salgado picked up a minor knee injury and had to be replaced at half-time. Fran left the field during the first half with a cut head.
