Shaun Allaway
Club: Leeds United
Shirt Number:
Position: Goalkeeper
Date of Birth: February 16, 1983
Birthplace: Reading
Height: 5' 10''
Weight: 12.1

Profile:

A highly-rated young goalkeeper who Leeds United snapped up from Reading's youth team in March 2000 for £200,000. The fee could rise to as much as £500,000.

Very much one for the future with the likes of Nigel Martyn and Paul Robinson at Elland Road, but it is already thought he will be as good as the latter is now when he gets to that age.

Tottenham were hotly tipped to secure the stopper's services before David O'Leary gazumped his former managerial partner George Graham.

An England Under-17 international, Allaway struggled when first moving to the club after breaking his hand - not the best injury for a 'keeper!

Despite being fourth choice stopper, he was granted a squad number at the start of the 2001/02 season. And at number 50 had one of the highest numbers in the Premiership!

Was loaned out to First Division Grimsby Town in August 2002.
