Niclas Alexandersson arrived in England in December 1997 when Ron Atkinson paid IFK Gothenburg £750,000 to take him to Sheffield Wednesday.
Was voted Wednesday's Player of the Season by the fans in the 1999/2000 season after bouncing back from a lengthy lay-off in the previous campaign.

Was part of the Sweden team at the 2002 World Cup finals and played in all four games. Scored the equaliser against England in Saitama.
