The son of Spurs goalkeeping legend Ray Clemence, Stephen is a neat and tidy midfielder with plenty of skill and the ability to get stuck in during tougher games.
His excellent passing and influential play have seen him win England Under-21 honours, but injury curtailed his progress during 1999/2000. Was more heavily involved in the 2000/2001 campaign.
A strong-running player who can also boast goalscoring in his repertoire, Clemence is most effective in on the wing.
Showed this to good effect when injuries gave him his first team chance. Made both goals in a 2-1 win over Liverpool in November 2000.
Was injured in the first month of the 2001/02 season, and didn't return until April. By the end of the campaign had made 107 appearances for the club.
