Eric Black has confirmed he turned down the chance to join the shortlist for the manager's job at his former club Aberdeen.The Coventry assistant boss, who helped the Dons lift the European Cup Winners` Cup in 1983, has revealed how he was approached for permission to put his name forward as a successor to Ebbe Skovdahl.
But the Aberdeen legend was forced to reject the offer which resulted in the club appointing Gardner Spiers as caretaker boss.
Black said: `An agent contacted me and asked if I would be interested in putting myself on the shortlist for the Aberdeen post.
`At this stage for family reasons I don't want to be considered.
`I have to stress that I haven't been offered the job, just asked if I wanted to be considered.'
