Cole charged over ref abuse

Arsenal defender Ashley Cole has been charged with misconduct by the FA relating to an incident in the match at Southampton.

The England left-back has been charged under a rule which refers to insulting and/or abusive language or behaviour to a match official.

Arsenal lost 3-2 to Southampton at St Mary's Stadium on November 23 in a match refereed by Paul Durkin.

Cole has 14 days to respond to the charge.
